Farewell Mountain Mamas

We have had the greatest time with our kids visiting from West Virginia. You have seen most of our activities on this blog, so here is our final posting of this visit. Anybody have any bonus miles to give away?

The winter rains gave us a peach crop like we've never seen. Mercedes likes pickin' peaches, 'cause she IS one!

Thoughts go back a generation, and you go looking for those old prints. Papa Wayne and young Matt Griffin at the Matthews' in Uvalde, pickin' peaches. Probably Spring of '85.

Mercedes is animated and has quite a vocabulary, something Papa Wes  prizes! You are receiving the full explanation here.

She will be quite the hostess.

In case you didn't know, my love language is 'acts of service'. So Wes dug out the planters, filled with new compost and mulch, and new flowering plants. Makes good for a combo birthday and Mother's day present. I like it.

The impatiens do really nice here. Lots of shade.

This bed needed a little protection from the pound puppies. Can't wait to see that plumbago come on.

Our farewell picture of the Mountain Mama's babies, Evangeline Rose and Mercedes Noel Hopkins. Country road, take me home! (And come back again soon!)
