CHRISTMAS FROM THE PORCH - 2013

Greetings of this Blessed Season from our porch in Liberty Hill, Texas!
We are happy to report that our clan is doing well!
Ryan and Kate are in Hays, Kansas, where Ryan is overseeing compliance for a major pipeline construction project. Their girls Mercedes, 4, and Evangeline, 2, are expecting a sister next April.
Matthew and Ashleigh are in Caldwell, Idaho. Matt continues to offer web design and programming services through Six House Design. Morgan, 8, Emma, 6, and Viola, 3, are enjoying their new home and room to farm.
The praise report from Wes and Jan is that during a season when Wes’s business has not done well, God showed His faithfulness by making a way for us to be completely debt free! Truly a miracle. We also started the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan, so we are trending down in a good way!
We send heartfelt wishes that you will pause during the season, reflect on the miracle of ‘God With Us’, and make room in your hearts to welcome the ‘Child of Promise’, even Messiah, the One Who can give you new life.
Love,
Wes and Jan Griffin

Thanksgiving at the Roost

My helper has been busy, so once again I'm late in posting a holiday!
We had such a great time with the Griffinheimers at the Roost at Canyon Lake for Thanksgiving. It was even better because of all the outlaws, er, in-laws that were in attendance. Even though some family couldn't make it, all were missed, and we are still thankful for every one of you!

We drove up and were greeted by a bunch of family members gathered around upside down trash cans with coals. Knew somethin' had to be up!

Not playin' favorites here, but Rachel requested that Wes take some family pics for Christmas. That's a good-lookin' bunch there!

So eventually we got the story behind the garbage cans. It's the new thing for cookin' the turkey outside, but not using all that gas and peanut oil! Just 20# of charcoal, stick the turkey on a metal paper towel holder, and two hours later you have a fall-apart turkey. Oh yeah, there is this wonderful rub and marinade for the turkey prior to, but you need to check with Bill and Lois Boles on those details.

Nephew Wesley Micah wasn't hungry or anything!

Sis Becky and hubby Tommy chose Thanksgiving to be cruising the Mediterranean, so we had to visit with them by Skype, or face time, or whatever! I guess when you're retired you can do that kind of thing!

The whole fam damily, or at least a whole bunch of them, for the traditional family photo on the porch and steps of Roadrunner's Roost. Thanks everyone for being there!
